Don’t Look Away is a Lottery funded project which aims to raise awareness of sight loss and the affect it has on individuals. It aims to raise awareness of good eye health amongst communities and work in partnership with service providers to make society more accessible for everyone .
To help us with the aims of the project, we are looking for volunteers to support us.
If you are interested in making a difference in society by helping to bring about change, we would love to hear from you! We currently have 2 types of volunteer roles available:
- Children’s Eye Health Champions
- Community Eye Health Champions
The aim of each of these roles would be to help create a network of engaged communities who are well informed and passionate about good eye health. Together with the project staff, the volunteers would deliver a series of awareness raising sessions either schools, black and minority ethnic communities- where there is a higher prevalence of sight loss, and in organisations within the private, public or voluntary sector.
We will provide initial training, ongoing support and opportunities to meet up and share experiences with other volunteers.
If you would like to volunteer for this project or would like any more information please get in touch with Becs Harris at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please check out website and social media pages regular for any other volunteering opportunities .
