Cake ‘n’ Coffee Open Day at Caerphilly

On Wednesday 26th June – our Supporting People Team held a Cake ‘n’ Coffee Open Day at New Cottage Dance Centre Ystrad Mynach Caerphilly.

There were scrumptious welsh cakes, tea and coffee and visitors were able to chat with professionals about sight and hearing loss issues and practical help and support that is available in the Caerphilly area.

Many other health organisations and charities were in attendence such as RNIB Cymru, Deaf Blind Cymru, Blind Veterans and Action on Hearing Loss.

Also in attendance were Symapptic, Supernova and Enhanced Vision who offer assistive technology products and were there to demonstrate what is now available on the market.

Care and Repair Caerphilly and Wiltshire Farm Foods also had stands giving information about their services to visitors.

Our Supporting People Team organised this event so that residents of Caerphilly, who need help and support could:

• Try out aids that help with daily problems

• Learn about free magnifiers

• See and use the latest electronic aids

• Learn about new computer technology with Get Caerphilly Online

• Chat with opticians from Lawrence & Harris
